The Knowing Family
THE KNOWING SELF FAMILY
A family-centred application of The Knowing Self
Family life doesn’t come with a manual.
Most of us are learning as we go, balancing expectations, emotion, responsibility, and the constant movement of modern life.
As children grow, particularly through the tween and teen years, what once felt intuitive can begin to feel harder. Conversations escalate more quickly. Intentions don’t always land. Everyone seems to be carrying more beneath the surface.
This isn’t a failure of parenting.
It’s a reflection of how little space most families are given to understand what’s actually driving behaviour, in adults and in young people alike.
What sits beneath behaviour matters
Beneath moments of frustration, withdrawal, or disconnection sit unseen drivers, emotion, belief, stress, history, and the nervous system’s need for safety.
These drivers quietly shape how we show up at home.
In a world that looks nothing like the one many parents grew up in socially, digitally, and emotionally, understanding what sits beneath behaviour is no longer optional, it’s foundational.
Our intention is almost always to love, protect, and connect, but when we’re reacting from what sits beneath the surface, our impact can tell a different story.
The Knowing Self Family
The Knowing Self Family is a calm, on-demand space for parents who want to understand themselves and their children more clearly without urgency, judgement, or pressure to “do it right”.
This work isn’t about perfection, it’s about presence, self-leadership, and creating a home where people feel safe enough to be seen, heard, and understood.
There is nothing to complete here.
You come when it’s useful. You step back when life is full.

What you’ll have access to:
When you join The Knowing Self Family, you’ll have on-demand access to a small, intentional library of short video sessions. Each session is designed to stand alone and be returned to as needed.
The sessions explore themes such as:
Behaviour as communication
Understanding what behaviour is responding to, rather than trying to control it.What sits underneath reactivity
How stress, emotion, past experience, and the need for safety shape responses at home.Intention and impact
Why we can mean well and still miss each other, and how awareness changes that.Emotional safety
What helps people remain open instead of defensive, and how safety alters communication.Communication that connects
Moving from reacting or fixing to listening and responding with steadiness.Shame, pressure, and expectation
Understanding the inner worlds young people are navigating, and how to speak in ways that don’t add weight.Leading yourself as a parent
How regulation, tone, and awareness shape the culture of a home more than any strategy.
Each session is around 20–30 minutes.
There is no recommended order. No requirement to watch everything.
At its heart
At the heart of The Knowing Self Family is a simple understanding:
When we understand what drives us, something shifts.
Reactions soften.
Conversations slow.
Connection becomes safer.
Not because life is easier, but because it’s clearer.
